Fixed wire testing across the Midlands
The Midlands is the manufacturing and logistics heart of the country. Birmingham and the Black Country hold automotive, engineering and metals industries alongside a large office and retail core; Coventry and Warwickshire add automotive research and the M6 and M40 corridors; Leicester, Nottingham and Derby have their own manufacturing, university and hospital estates; and the M1 and A14 corridor through Northampton, Daventry, Lutterworth and Magna Park is the largest concentration of distribution centres in the UK. We work extensively across all of these areas and attend as soon as possible, at a time that suits your operation. Each major city and county has its own page linked below.

Manufacturing and engineering premises with heavy three phase installations, distribution centres along the M1, M6 and A14, offices and business parks, universities and NHS trusts, schools and academies, care homes, retail and the many older industrial buildings of the Black Country all feature in our Midlands work.

About fixed wire testing and EICRs
Fixed wire testing, formally an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR), is the periodic inspection and testing of a building's permanent wiring, distribution boards, protective devices, earthing and bonding. It is how duty holders demonstrate that an installation is being maintained safely under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, and most insurers, landlords and accreditation schemes expect to see a current report. Observations are coded C1, C2, C3 or FI so that anything dangerous is dealt with first. For a full explanation of what the inspection involves, how often different buildings should be tested and what the codes mean, see our main Fixed Wire Testing service page.
