Electrical Testing for Schools, Colleges and Universities

Schools, colleges and universities carry a duty of care to pupils, students and staff that shapes how compliance work has to be planned. Testing is scheduled around term dates, exam periods and your own site access rules, so timetabled lessons and learning are never interrupted.

Classrooms, science labs and kitchens all rely on a mix of portable equipment, so PAT testing is usually carried out alongside periodic fixed wire testing and EICR inspections to BS 7671 across the wider site. Emergency lighting checks under BS 5266 and fire alarm testing to BS 5839 keep corridors and escape routes safe for pupils, students and staff, and we also carry out fire extinguisher testing so firefighting equipment stays serviceable across every building.

Every engineer follows your site's access, safeguarding and visitor policies as a matter of course, so a testing visit looks no different to any other contractor visit on site. Reports are written up clearly and kept on file, ready for governors, inspections or your own compliance team whenever they're needed.
