Fixed wire testing in Wolverhampton
Wolverhampton and the Black Country have one of the highest concentrations of manufacturing in the country: aerospace at Fordhouses and the i54 business park, metals and engineering across Bilston, Willenhall, Wednesfield and Darlaston, and the newer distribution parks along the M54 and M6. The city centre provides offices and retail at the Mander Centre, and New Cross Hospital and the University of Wolverhampton are large estates. Walsall, Dudley and Sandwell add further industrial and public sector premises. We work extensively across all of these and attend as soon as possible, at a time that suits your operation. For the wider region see our Midlands fixed wire testing page.

Sites and sectors we test in Wolverhampton
Heavy industrial installations dominate our Wolverhampton work: three phase supplies to machinery, older distribution boards, sub mains to outbuildings and yard installations, often in buildings that have been extended many times. We also test offices, retail, schools and academies, care homes, council premises and the aerospace and technology units at i54.

About fixed wire testing and EICRs
Fixed wire testing, formally an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR), is the periodic inspection and testing of a building's permanent wiring, distribution boards, protective devices, earthing and bonding. It is how duty holders demonstrate that an installation is being maintained safely under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, and most insurers, landlords and accreditation schemes expect to see a current report. Observations are coded C1, C2, C3 or FI so that anything dangerous is dealt with first. For a full explanation of what the inspection involves, how often different buildings should be tested and what the codes mean, see our main Fixed Wire Testing service page.
