Yes. The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires fire extinguishers to be maintained in efficient working order and available for immediate use, with servicing carried out by competent persons.

Basic servicing is required annually, while extended servicing, involving internal inspection and pressure testing, is typically needed every five to ten years depending on extinguisher type and manufacturer specification.

Servicing checks pressure levels, inspects hoses, nozzles and other critical components, confirms safety seals are intact, and verifies the extinguisher hasn't been discharged or tampered with.
