Commercial activity is concentrated on the Springfield and Chelmer Village business parks, the Widford and Waterhouse Lane industrial estates, the riverside retail and leisure developments in the city centre and the growing Beaulieu development to the north. We work extensively across all of these and attend as soon as possible, at a time that suits your operation. For the wider county see our Essex fixed wire testing page.

About fixed wire testing and EICRs

Fixed wire testing, formally an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR), is the periodic inspection and testing of a building's permanent wiring, distribution boards, protective devices, earthing and bonding. It is how duty holders demonstrate that an installation is being maintained safely under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, and most insurers, landlords and accreditation schemes expect to see a current report. Observations are coded C1, C2, C3 or FI so that anything dangerous is dealt with first. For a full explanation of what the inspection involves, how often different buildings should be tested and what the codes mean, see our main Fixed Wire Testing service page.
