Fixed wire testing in Medway
The Medway Towns form the largest urban area in Kent, with a business base built around the former dockyard and the river. Medway City Estate in Frindsbury and Gillingham Business Park are the two biggest commercial estates, Chatham Maritime and Rochester Riverside hold newer offices and leisure space, and Kingsnorth on the Hoo Peninsula has heavy industry and energy sites. Medway Maritime Hospital in Gillingham and the Universities at Medway campus in Chatham are large, complex estates in their own right. We work extensively across all of these sites and attend at whatever time keeps disruption to your site to a minimum. For the rest of the county see our Kent fixed wire testing page.

Sites and sectors we test in Medway
Across Medway we test offices, workshops and warehousing on Medway City Estate and Gillingham Business Park, retail in Chatham, Hempstead Valley and the Rochester high street, schools and academies in all five towns, care homes, council and community buildings, and marine and heavy industrial premises at Chatham Docks and Kingsnorth. We are also well placed for follow up visits, remedial work and rolling programmes where a client wants the same engineers back each time.

About fixed wire testing and EICRs
Fixed wire testing, formally an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR), is the periodic inspection and testing of a building's permanent wiring, distribution boards, protective devices, earthing and bonding. It is how duty holders demonstrate that an installation is being maintained safely under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, and most insurers, landlords and accreditation schemes expect to see a current report. Observations are coded C1, C2, C3 or FI so that anything dangerous is dealt with first. For a full explanation of what the inspection involves, how often different buildings should be tested and what the codes mean, see our main Fixed Wire Testing service page.
