About fixed wire testing and EICRs

Fixed wire testing, formally an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR), is the periodic inspection and testing of a building's permanent wiring, distribution boards, protective devices, earthing and bonding. In Guernsey it is how duty holders demonstrate that an installation is being maintained safely under the island's electrical safety legislation, and most insurers, landlords and lease agreements expect to see a current report. Observations are coded C1, C2, C3 or FI so that anything dangerous is dealt with first.
