Thermographic Image Surveys

In the field of Electrical Safety Testing, Thermographic Image Surveys offer a non-intrusive, planned and protective maintenance solution to reinforce the information obtained within a Periodic Electrical Test and Inspection report.

It has become one of the most valuable diagnostics tools for predictive maintenance detecting anomalies early, often invisible to the naked eye and allows corrective action to be taken before costly breakdowns occur. This is becoming more and more popular as a cost effective means of meeting HSE and insurance requirements as well as allowing businesses to take steps to avoid unplanned maintenance shut downs

By utilising portable Thermal Imaging cameras to survey electrical systems, any areas of elevated temperature can be identified via an infrared picture, coupled with a digital photograph of the item of equipment.

Elevated temperatures identified during the survey give early warning signs of potential loose connections or the overloading of equipment, enabling maintenance to be carried out on the equipment before a failure occurs resulting in either an interruption of supply or in severe cases a potential fire.

Quantec complete all thermographic surveys in accordance with the BSRIA - Guidance & Standard Specification for Thermal Imaging of LV Electrical Installations & IEE Guidance Note 3 (2008).
